About StayStack

Built by people who’ve run the business.

We’ve spent about twenty years inside vacation rental companies — pricing them, growing them, and running them day to day. StayStack is the tool we kept wishing existed.

Where it started

Anyone who has run a rental business knows the afternoon. A guest is on the phone. An owner wants to know why last month came in short. The answer is written down somewhere — in the PMS, in QuickBooks, in a message thread from Tuesday — and someone on your team has to go find it. Again.

We’ve lived that afternoon from both sides: building the software and running the properties. Everywhere we went, the same thing held. The people were good. The information was scattered.

StayStack started inside Ohana, a hospitality company we help run, and Ohana is our first customer. Their team uses StayStack every day, and what they run into shapes what we build next. When something works for them, we bring it to other operators.

Your team stays in charge. They know the properties, the owners, and the guests. StayStack puts the whole picture in front of them, so their afternoons go to the work that needs them.

The founders

Nick Mote

CEO

Nick has spent more than a decade building software for vacation rental operators. At Vacasa, he created the machine-learning pricing system that set rates for more than 7,000 units. He later led engineering on a dynamic pricing platform at Rented, and since 2024 he has served as fractional CTO at Ohana. He leads StayStack’s product and engineering from Portland, Oregon.

Billy O’Sullivan

Domain Expert & GTM Cofounder

Billy has spent his career on the operating side of hospitality. As CEO of ALTIDO, he combined four European vacation rental companies into one, steered it through COVID, and saw it through to an exit in 2022. Before that, as CMO of Park City Rental Properties, he grew the portfolio from 147 to 312 units in 20 months. He co-founded Ohana in 2020. At StayStack, he works directly with operators, and what he hears shapes the product.
